2-16–26   THOUGHTS  "In Jesus' name..."

From yesterday’s sermon, we share some points from a section of one of David’s most powerful prayer songs.   David has sinned with Bathsheba, and this is part of his prayer to his God!  Think about the significance of each verse.  David is in total distress for his sin against God! He is in begging mode, with only God’s grace to save him. He seeks  a renewal of relationship with his Creator.  He seems to seek the “Right To Speak” of God’s goodness, again!

Ps 51:7-13
7   Purify me with hyssop, and I shall be clean; Wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.
8  Make me to hear joy and gladness, Let the bones which You have broken rejoice.
9  Hide Your face from my sins And blot out all my iniquities.
10  Create in me a clean heart, O God, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.
11  Do not cast me away from Your presence And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
12  Restore to me the joy of Your salvation And sustain me with a willing spirit.
13  Then I will teach transgressors Your ways, And sinners will be converted to You.

Our Prayer:
Father God, You have given us so many reasons to be glad and rejoice.  We thank You and praise Your glorious name.  Help us to always know the joyful sound of Your salvation in Christ Jesus.  Father, give us right spirits and clean  hearts.  Help us to teach our  world of the great joy that is in Christ Jesus.  We pray in Jesus name,   Amen.
